Clouds, Rain and Tears

Quote by Christopher Morley

I had a completely different post and quote in mind. But couldn’t find the right words to express what I wanted to convey.

During my search I came across this quote and found it so appropriate . I’m sitting in my blogging corner, some lights on in the middle of the afternoon to chase away the gloom from the afternoon thunderstorm.

Living in Florida for any amount of time you get used to the afternoon thunderstoms that occur almost daily during rain season/ summer.

I snapped this picture on my phone earlier today. The clouds hung heavy and black in the air. It was humid and you could feel the pressure building. Release was imminent. It came around 3 pm this afternoon.

Now, still a slight drizzle, the sky is lightening up again and the air is much cleaner and just a little cool.

So these heavy clouds let a little water. (Actually a lot.) And for now it feels better.

Sometimes, when our hearts and minds feel heavy it’s good to have a good cry and let it all out. I’ve been know to have a good cry now and then. Just ask the hubby! Usually, I feel much better after. Lighter somehow.

    Great quote!
We get similar thunderstorms here in SC, and I know from my Florida vacations what you’re talking about! Crazy weather!

It gets pretty crazy. Lately, it’s been raining so much the ponds in my neighborhood are so full and high it’s scary. I remember, when we first moved here we were amazed by the storms.

So true–a good cry can sometimes lighten the atmosphere just like a good rain….

I agree. Every so often it’s a good thing.

I loved this post and the way you wrote it! And yes, a good cry sometimes feels good to release a few emotions 🙂
I hope you are ok though and just hypothetically speaking? 🙂

Kerry, yes, I was speaking hypothetically. I’m actually fine and very excited for the coming weekend. I’m glad, you liked this post. It just kind of came together on it’s own. I love when that happens!!! 🙂

I love the photo, I love the quote and I adore the following story attached to it. An afternoon storm typically leads a fresh start for the evening in my mind – and so does a good cry every once in a while…

Yes, you are so right. It just jived yesterday when I found this quote.

actually, today I have cried a lot …
and the sun was shining mostly …
ack, go away away this feeling!

Look forward to seeing you Saturday!

Oh, no. Hope it’s better now. I hate days like that. I’m so excited for Saturday, too. Woohoo. 🙂

Love it! Some people don’t understand why it can be so easy to cry. It just lets some things go. You don’t even have to talk about it; whatever was on your mind can just be washed away.
