That’s too funny! We went to KSC a few years ago and had a great time. I didn’t see that photo spot, but I did get my picture taken with the astronaut mascot walking around.

This was actually taken at the Astronaut Hall of Fame a few miles down the road. 🙂

Little One doesn’t want to take pictures lately and always makes a face. Middle on the other hand loves the camera!!!

That looks pretty cool! Were you at a museum or something? And why is it red? I thought spacesuits are supposed to be white???

    • Reply Susi June 13, 2012 at 10:17 pm

We were at the Astronaut Hall of Fame close to Kennedy Space Center and some early space suits were orange… I think! 🙂

      • Reply Sweetheart June 14, 2012 at 12:57 pm

The color of the suit has more to do with where its intended to be used than that of age. White reflects sunlight and therefore residual heat and is generally used in orbit or by a planetary body (the Moon). By reflecting the rays it helps to make the suits environmental controls more efficient. Conversely the red color of some pressure suits isn’t red at all, its actually “International Orange”. This color doesn’t exist in nature and tends to stand out, especially in water or against wooded areas. So, if you’re flying a dangerous mission and have to bail out, hopefully you’d be wearing International Orange! 🙂
