Baby Chicks

November 3, 2017

Yesterday, I got a call at work from the lower school science lab teacher to let me know that a few baby chicks had hatched.

I’ve seen it a few times now, but it’s still as fascinating as the first time for me. And these chicks are so adorable. Their little chirps make my heart happy.

Aren’t they just the cutest?

*I’m going to try to post everyday in November since it’s #nablopomo (National Blog Post Month) where bloggers from all over post content every day in November. There is an off-shoot of this for photos. I have to look up the hashtag for it.

Have a great day everyone!

A hurrication in pictures {Wordless Wednesday}

September 27, 2017

Pit stop in Savannah, GA on the way to our destination – it took us 10 hours when it is normally a 6 hour drive.

Raleigh/Durham for a few days. And a special tour of UNC Chapel Hill – what a beautiful campus.

After a few days, hotel living with a family of five and a pooch, gets to be just slightly tiresome. So a few days in the mountains were in order… kitchen, washer/dryer and some room to spread out.

We got incredibly lucky and had an unexpected “vacation” to boot. Things are getting back to normal around here and we are keeping our fingers crossed that the rest of hurricane season will be quiet.

Beach please

August 16, 2017

Sometimes a walk on the beach with your teenage daughter is just what you need. The sand between your toes. Seagulls flying overhead. A breeze ruffling through your hair. The steady sound of the waves. Feeding our souls…

A good way to spend an afternoon before the craziness of the new school year starts…
