These girls are always moving, never still. As you can see from these recent shots I took at the park.
Linking up with Hilary at Feeling Beachie
Kristi at Live and Love Out Loud.
I love to share photos and I love Instagram. I was one happy little blogger when Instagram became available on Android devices. I jumped, no leaped, on that particular social media bandwagon and have developed a new love affair/addiction with it. Because of this love affair I have decided to start my very own weekly link up called… Picture Perfect Weekly!!!
I would love it if you would join me and share the treasures you captured with Instagram/phone camera/any other camera during the past week. I see a lot of fantastic, cute, funny and happy moments every day.
Share just one or many of your pictures and add a small description.
Just paste the badge into your post or sidebar and follow me… quick and simple. You can find me on Facebook, Twitter and of course, Instagram!
I look forward to seeing your treasured moments!!!
Some of you, if not most, know by now that my week has been a bit of a blur for me. I’ve been down for the count with a cold. I thought, I was getting better on Thursday but woke up feeling worse than ever on Friday. I feel like I’m in a fog and can’t seem to shake it. Ugh…
So, last night when I went to bed just before I passed out completely a thought popped into my head. “You didn’t do your Picture Perfect Weekly link up.” I promised myself to do it first thing in the morning and it faded away. Of course, this morning I woke up with cotton candy stuffed into my head and didn’t remember until I pretty much drowned my first cup of coffee.
So, here, after some delay is my week in Instagram pics…
I had animal encounters, some of the pet variety, some not. I love the shot I managed to get of the stork. Most of the wild birds around here tend to take off when I come by with my dogs. This one stayed and let me take a picture.
I joined little one one morning and painted my first watercolor painting in a long while. It was fun. I may not be very good at it but I have always enjoyed art.
No week would be complete without some shots of my girls. They don’t need any prompting and it is actually hard for me to get natural poses out of them… they see my phone or the camera and start posing for me. I do love catching their sisterly bond right now… it’s such a wonderful thing to see and often takes me back in time to my own childhood and my time with my little sister.
A few food shots also made an appearance this week. There’s the slow cooker chili I made yesterday. I had been wanting some for a few days and usually hubby makes the chili in our house. But dang it, I wanted to see if I could and felt like “cooking” even though I’m not feeling well. I also made chocolate cupcakes because little one wanted to bake. Someone stole one before I could take a pic of the whole tray!!! 🙂 We went for Pho because it was just what the doctor ordered. It’s our replacement for chicken noodle soup!!! And I had pumpkin frozen yogurt for the first time. What a treat for my sore throat. It was delicious.
And lastly, my new “toy”. I’m over the moon about it. Love, love, love my new camera. It feels so right in my hands. In a way, I finally understand hubby’s obsession with guitars and how you need a specific one to get a specific sound/play a specific song. I can’t wait to get my hands on some new lenses… But will have to be a good girl and wait for Hanukkah Harry or Santa. And that’s okay, after all Santa has already been here!!!! 🙂
Now it’s your turn. What have you been up to? Do you have any picture to share?
For my other Wordless Wednesday go check here!
” I want daddy to do it!”…That’s what I keep hearing over and over again, lately. Our youngest is in her daddy phase – big time. Anything that she needs help with, her daddy has to do. “Can I get you some apple juice?” …”No, I want daddy to do it.” …”How about I –help you unbuckle from your car seat?…help you put your shoes on?…bring you to bed?…cut the meat for you?…”Noooooo, I WANT DADDY TO DO IT!”
Little things and big things, she wants her daddy’s help…mommy just isn’t going to cut it right now…and you know what, I’m totally fine with that. Maybe it’s the fact that she’s our third and I’ve been there, done that! I look at it this way, she wants daddy to do it, great, it means, I can go do something else or simply just sit for five minutes. Which any of you moms out there know is very rare in a house full of kids!!!
A few weeks ago, my girls and I went to the pediatrician for their yearly check-up and he asked me if our youngest was in her daddy phase. I said “Yes, very much so”, and smiled. What he said next honestly shocked me…he wanted to know if I was okay with it. I probably looked at him funny because he kind of mumbled to himself, “Oh, I guess you are not one of those.” ( Whatever that means?)
As our conversation and the check-up continued, he mentioned that many moms out there don’t like it at all and have a lot of trouble dealing with the fact that their child doesn’t want mommy day in and out. I guess, I understand it to a certain extent but I am a strong believer in the ‘it takes a village’ train of thought. I couldn’t imagine doing it on my own– I know, there are plenty of moms and dads out there who don’t have a choice–and knowing that hubby is there to take over when they need and want him, is a great comfort to me.
Right now, it’s just a “daddy phase”, but judging by our middle daughters attachment to her daddy(and her little sister mimicking everything she does), I’d say it’ll last…both of my girls have their daddy wrapped nice and tight around their little finger…they know it and so does he!!!! 🙂 They are daddy’s girls! I do have my first-born — he’s a mommy’s boy–in all the good ways…but I love all of them to pieces– daddy’s, mommy’s or not…it doesn’t matter.
Which one are you?
