Picture Perfect Sundays #18

August 25, 2012

I love to share photos and I love Instagram. I was one happy little blogger when Instagram became available on Android devices. I jumped, no leaped, on that particular social media bandwagon and have developed a new love affair/addiction with it. Because of this love affair I have decided to start my very own Sunday link up called… Picture Perfect Sundays!!!
I would love it if you would join me and share the treasures you captured with Instagram/phone camera/any other camera during the past week. I see a lot of fantastic, cute, funny and happy moments every day.

Share just one or many of your pictures and add a small description.

Just paste the badge into your post or sidebar and follow me… quick and simple. You can find me on Facebook, Twitter and of course, Instagram!

This week I didn’t take too many pictures but still have a few to share.

Today I spent most of the day prepping for the arrival of Tropical Storm Isaac.

Hubby and I cleaned the pool area and put everything inside. The pool deck is mostly empty and the garage filled to the hilt.

I went to the store and battled the crowds to get some non-perishable food and extra water in case we lose power.

I also did more laundry than I ever thought possible in a day… I managed to do 5 loads and everything is already folded and put away.

I may have gone overboard but even if we don’t lose power and it turns out not to be a big deal I’ll have a day to relax and only a small pile of laundry for a change!!! 🙂

The kids school will be closed on Monday — it would have been their first day of school — guess it’ll be on Tuesday now.

Okay then, here are a few of my Instagram shots from the last week.

Middle and the boy waiting out a rain storm by his locker during open house on Friday.

I couldn’t believe how happy they were to see their friends and go back to school.

Makes me happy! 🙂

Middle giving me a pedicure by the pool . A beautiful day with lots of sun…

The boy’s first golf practice. He had a good time and did well.

His thumbs not so much, he walked away with two huge blisters.

Didn’t stop him from going again two days later.

So proud.

Little One on her sister’s laptop.

Concentrating so hard.

She amazes me by how much she already knows.

Homemade chicken soup for my poor hubby who was laid up on the couch most of the week.

He”s doing much better…

Sisters getting along and hanging out with Joey watching over them.

He’s my neighbor’s dog and such a sweetheart.

The girls love him.

Now it’s your turn. Hope you all had a wonderful week. Can’t see your pics!!!

It’s late and I’m tired. Little One came in three times during last night which is unusual for her. I sure felt it today and I’m ready to hit the sheets.

But not before I share my Instagram shots from the past week!!!

Here they are:

From top clockwise:

1) Evening sky after one of our daily thunderstorms as seen on our walk. Never get tired of it.

2) Kids being silly for photoadayaugust on Instagram.

3) Middle with her brothers aviators looking cool.

4) Finn our attack kitty trying to get me.

5) We had a visitor in our pool one morning this week. It was a harmless Southern Ringneck snake (yes, I researched it right away) and hubby saved it from a drowning death and put it out back. I still haven’t been back in the pool… because of the thunderstorms, not the snake!!! 🙂

6) Gracie our Yorkie making herself comfortable on Little One’s new beanbag chair.

7) I made chocolate chip cookies at 9 pm last night because my boy had a chocolate graving… and maybe I did too.

8) Little One enjoying her new bean bag chair.

9) Little One at dinner tonight enjoying daddy’s dinner more than her own. That’s a pork shank… or as we would call it in Germany, Schweinehaxe… Every once in a while it’s nice to go to a restaurant and eat German food and not cook it at home.

10) My girls looking pretty on the way to dinner.

11) All three of my offspring on our evening walk with the pooches. It doesn’t happen too often so I had to take a picture to commemorate the occasion.

Picture Perfect Sundays #16

August 12, 2012

I’m back to my scheduled weekly Sunday post.

Last week, as some of you may have noticed but were kind enough not to mention I did not post my regular Picture Perfect Sundays.

I was too busy soaking in some girl time with my mom and my girls and enjoying the beautiful beaches of South West Florida.

I love the Gulf of Mexico. It’s a lot calmer than the Atlantic… easier to just float about and relax in the soft waves.

I love to share photos and I love Instagram. I was one happy little blogger when Instagram became available on Android devices. I jumped, no leaped, on that particular social media bandwagon and have developed a new love affair/addiction with it. I look forward to seeing your treasured moments!!!

I made up a collage of my fave Instagram moments of the last two weeks:

1. I found Kelle’s blog Enjoying the small Things  a few weeks ago. When I was done reading Nella’s birth story and had dried my last tear. I clicked on the link and ordered her book. As soon as it arrived I started reading and couldn’t put it down. It’s just amazing and wonderful and so full of love! If you haven’t heard of Kelle or her book, I urge you to check both out. It’ll change you… as it changed me.

2. This is the content of the package I received from the super sweet and lovely Beth Ann of It’s Just Life. She saw the picture I posted after I spilled my treasured loose leaf rooibus tea and the sweet soul that she is, put together a package of tea goodness from China. Can you believe it? I love my bloggy friends!!! Please, go say Hello to her and check out her comments for a cause. You won’t regret it.

3. The boy and Little One all smiles after a visit to the dentist. No cavities. 🙂

4. Middle with her “baby” our Yorkie Gracie after one of her bath’s.

5. Beautiful white ducks that live in the fountain in front of my mom’s store at the Miromar Outlets in Ft. Myers, Florida. Great mall.

6. A hair bow… made out of Middle’s hair!

7. Beach babes… ready to hit the sand.

8. Beach babes… pooped out and sleepy.

9. Matchy girls waiting for Nicolette and her daughter Miss M..

10. Love that I got to meet a blog friend in real life and hit it off with her. This was our second time meeting and we will see each other again in September at CFL Blog Con. So excited.

11. Our girls having a blast at Playtown Cafe.

12. My boy practicing opening the lock on his locker. He’s in Middle School… (wipes a tear)

13. My three lovelies, posing for me without any arguing or making faces. Just smiles and happy kids.

14. It may have had to do with this… a trip to Guitar Center. Here’s the hubby trying out a new base. He didn’t get it and instead a new electric guitar graces our wall. He did trade two of his old ones in.

15. My girls rocking the drums. They always make a beeline for the drum section.

16. Here they are again… in the middle of the guitar section. It’s daddy’s toy store but they love it too!!!

And those are some of my fave memories from the past two weeks.

I hope you will link up some of yours and check out my bloggy friends.

If you feel like sharing, please do! I’d appreciate you helping me spread the word.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!

I love to share photos and I love Instagram. I was one happy little blogger when Instagram became available on Android devices. Because of this love affair I have decided to start my very own Sunday link up aptly called… Instagram Sundays Picture Perfect Sundays!!! Thanks to my hubby we have a new name!!!)

Here are some of my fave Insta.grams from the past week:

I’ll start off with some food shots:

Almond cookies that were gone in a heart beat. Look for the recipe this coming Thursday.

They will definitely make an appearance on my Christmas platter.

Next up,

Orange cookies with an orange glaze that are making a quick disappearing act as well.

Love these.

Angel hair with a white wine clam sauce. Requested by me , cooked expertly by hubby.

Here is Little One “cooking” for me in her kitchen…

…and here she is helping me bake in my kitchen!!!  🙂

My boy, after eating a chocolate ice cream cone… looks like he enjoyed it.

Our after dinner walk ended at the beach.

Little One’s lashes after some fun in the pool… wish I had those.  See the few freckles she has? Fairy kisses!!!

This is what I’ll be doing with Middle tomorrow. She’s been begging for streaks… glad I found washable color!

Ah, glorious blue skies and palm trees. After a gloomy, rainy morning this was just perfect. I love Florida!

I look forward to seeing your Instagrams on the big screen!!!

Here are some of my favorite moments from the past week, all captured with Instagram…

Last Sunday we spent the early evening fishing and Middle caught a big catfish. She was so happy that the fish were biting.

I’m thankful for the big banyan trees in our neighborhood. The shade they provide is much needed when we are out walking the dogs in the mid afternoon heat!

We’ve had a few rainy days this week as well. One afternoon it just poured incessantly.

I spilled a good portion of my good Rooibus the other night. The Rooibus that my aunt brought me from Germany. But I managed to safe some and have some more in the freezer.

Our cat Finn just loves sleeping on my laptop keyboard. I often forget to lock it so she has sent out an e-mail or Skype or two.

I made the boy some chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast this morning. He was very happy about it.

My very own little Lady Gaga. She got those glasses when she was an itty bitty baby and still loves to play with them. 🙂

Giddy up horsie. Having fun with big sister.

This is my favorite for the week. Swimming with great-grandma… one of those life-time memories.

Little One changed for our evening walk. She wanted to look pretty!

Here is my week in Instagrams:

Little One who is three ordered these alligator yakitory skewers at one of our fave Japanese restaurants. They are really good and taste kinda like a mix between chicken and veal.

A slice of the banana bread I baked Friday night and ate for breakfast on Saturday morning. I added some chopped almonds and oh my… it tastes great.

I just baked theses lemon glazed cookies tonight. They are delicious. Thanks for the recipe Katie at Sluiter Nation!

One of the birds that frequent our neighborhood lakes. I think, it’s an egret but not 100% sure. It was watching us very carefully probably wondering if the dogs were going to go after it.

Ducks. Two of the many that cause traffic jams and other ills… it’s not fun walking the dogs trying to dodge their poop on the sidewalks! 🙂

Look who came to visit our neighborhood lakes… an otter. Him and some of his buddies come a few times a year. He was sitting by the edge of the lake and munching on a fish, watching me. I love watching otters swim, play and frolic in the water.

Lots of hair… from our Yorkie. She finally got a much needed cut. It amazes me how much hair this little 5 lbs canine has.

Our old girl Macy… she’s 12 now and showing her age more and more. I still remember when the hubby surprised me with her. She was such a tiny little bundle.

This has been my sight most of the week. Middle came down with the dreaded summer cold. So far none of the rest of us have come down with anything and I hope, it stays that way.

Little One floating in the pool. She just mastered this skill this week. I’m so impressed with her… she swims from one end to the other, dives under and touches the pool floor and relaxes and floats.

Under my favorite big tree in the neighborhood… enjoying the view and shade.

And of course, what would my week be without one sunset shot. I tried to get a different perspective and took the picture through the fence. I kinda like the way it came out.
