Always In Threes

January 21, 2012

Ever since I discovered that my trusty point and shoot camera has a lot more settings than I ever thought, I’ve been busy taking pictures. Everywhere I go, I see a potential shot. And when I can’t stop or don’t have the camera with me I get a little mad. But that’s not what’s on my mind now.

The other day, my girls and I were out walking the dogs, enjoying another beautiful Florida Winter afternoon. The picture on top is one of the shots, I took. Three palm trees. And now, everywhere I turn there seems to be a grouping of three palm trees, sometimes more, sometimes less, but mostly three! There are a lot of palm trees in South Florida, as you can imagine. It’s the nature of the beast!!! 🙂

Anyways, it made me wonder if there is a reason for it or if the landscapers that designed the plots in all the different developments just liked the look of it. I do. I like the way three palm trees look together… either in a straight line, or in a triangle. It really doesn’t matter. Is that strange? Probably. But oh well, sometimes I get a little quirky.

Do you ever ponder about inane things? And what are they? I’d really like to know. 🙂

Happy weekend to all!!!

Pondering

This is my first time joining Brenda for her pondering with a Purpose blog hop. Go check out her blog to see what it’s all about!
Ever since I found her blog and started reading her Pondering with a Purpose posts I’ve wanted to join… but for one reason or another I just could never quite come up with something to write about. Today’s prompt started me thinking, I mean, pondering 🙂 about pondering. I’m not going to write about pondering on anything specific, rather on the times I ponder the most.
I think , I spent every day pondering something or other and I realized that there are certain times and situation where I let my mind just wander and ponder on things going on around me. Really, just letting my thoughts go where they may and then back again.
One of my favorite pondering times is when I’m cleaning… I have to sweep my floors almost daily because one of the pooches just sheds continuously. I usually use my trusty Bissel stick vacuum. The noise drowns out every other sound but my mind seems to shout louder then even the noise of the vac.  It’s like I’m in a vaccum myself, I can’t hear anything, no TV blasting Dora or Diego, no phone ringing, no kid shouting…just the hum of the vacuum and my thoughts to keep me company.
Another time is when I’m ironing, a chore I hate with a small passion, but sometimes I sneak off to the bedroom, set up the ironing board, close the door and iron hubby’s shirts that have piled up. The repetitive motion and quiet ( okay, the TV might be on low, for background noise) let’s me relax and my mind go off on another pondering journey.
And lastly, my daily walks with the pooches… I go at least three times a day and I usually have one or all three kids in tow. But sometimes, I manage to go off on my own. I love to walk through the neighborhood, especially on a beautiful, sunny day when the sky is so blue it hurts your eyes and ponder about the beauty around me. There are always some type of birds or animals around to watch… it’s fun watching the otters play when they come for a visit in one of the neighborhood lakes.
So, as you can see, I have lots of time and different situations to spend my time pondering. I think, in a way we all need that. Our lives can get so busy and hectic and crazy sometimes that it’s nice to just let go for a little while and let your mind wander and ponder on things. I never consciously realized this until Brenda had me pondering on it. 🙂
Do you ever let your mind wander and ponder about everything or anything????
