I had a completely different post and quote in mind. But couldn’t find the right words to express what I wanted to convey.
During my search I came across this quote and found it so appropriate . I’m sitting in my blogging corner, some lights on in the middle of the afternoon to chase away the gloom from the afternoon thunderstorm.
Living in Florida for any amount of time you get used to the afternoon thunderstoms that occur almost daily during rain season/ summer.
I snapped this picture on my phone earlier today. The clouds hung heavy and black in the air. It was humid and you could feel the pressure building. Release was imminent. It came around 3 pm this afternoon.
Now, still a slight drizzle, the sky is lightening up again and the air is much cleaner and just a little cool.
So these heavy clouds let a little water. (Actually a lot.) And for now it feels better.
Sometimes, when our hearts and minds feel heavy it’s good to have a good cry and let it all out. I’ve been know to have a good cry now and then. Just ask the hubby! Usually, I feel much better after. Lighter somehow.
“The first man a little girl falls in love with is her Dad.” ~ Unknown
“Certain is it that there is no kind of affection so purely angelic as of a father to a daughter. In love to our wives there is desire; to our sons, ambition; but to our daughters there is something which there are no words to express.” ~ Joseph Addison
Here he is, the proud daddy with his girls. Both of whom have him wrapped nice and tight around their little fingers. They are in every sense of the word… daddy’s girls… both of them.
When they hear the door open early in the evening as he comes in after a long day at work, they run to him with squealing voices:” Daaaaaddy!” and jump into his arms for one of their monkey hugs.
Middle daughter goes to work with him every chance she has. And that new shirt that looks so good on him, middle daughter picked it out. She’s his fashion advisor.
Little one showers him with her little raspberry kisses but won’t give mommy the time of day. Only daddy can wash and brush her hair to perfection. A quick run to the store… she accompanies him. We visit him for lunch, she insists on sitting next to him… always.
My two princesses are daddy’s girls... ever since that first time they wrapped their little fists around his finger. Daddy is the one they fell asleep on and daddy is the one that chases the bad dreams away and protects them through a bad storm.
I'm never making a pound cake from a boxed mix again. Made this from scratch and it came out heavenly!!! Recipe to follow!
My girls having fun coloring and decorating Easter eggs.
After coloring, before decorating...we had sequins, glitter and stickers. Awesomeness!!! 🙂
The only picture I got of the three of them together. They never sit sit or stand still long enough for me to get a good sibling shot!
A dip in the pool Easter Sunday afternoon!!!
Ran into one of my mommy friends and her kids (a school friend of middle daughter’s from her old school) and it was great to catch up and speak in German for a couple of hours… of course that led to laughs later on as my accent always comes out thicker after a while of speaking in my native language and my English comes out funny here and there!!!
“It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.” ~Charles Dickens
It is a bit late but I didn’t want to let the day go by without at least a quote. This one spoke to me… so true about Spring. Just this afternoon when I walked the dogs there was a breeze and as soon as I was in the shade of the trees I felt a bit chilled. Believe me, I’m not complaining, just saying. 🙂
