I was playing around with Pixlr Express an online photo editor and decided to make one of my quote images for you. I found this quote and it seems so fitting after our day on the water over the weekend. I’m still going through the photos and once I’m done editing I will share some with you. And how true is it that my memories are lingering! I look at all the photos I took and can’t help thinking back on this perfect day.
Have you had a perfect day lately? Or a memory that’s lingering in your mind?
“The only reason why we ask other people how their weekend was is so we can tell them about our own weekend.” ~ Chuck Palahniuk
So. How was your weekend?
Oh, wonderful. Well, let me tell you about mine! 🙂
We started our weekend with a trip to Oktoberfest in Oakland Park, Fl. Hubby found out that our favorite German restaurant was going to serve the food. So, off we went to get some Bratwurst on a bun and some Sauerkraut.
Middle’s bestie joined us. Here are the girls at the entrance of the “Biergarten” where we sat and ate some delicious food. And of course, hubby had to have a good German beer. What other beer is there? 😉
Don’t you just love this shot. Hubby in his Ballack jersey and Little One in my old dirndl dress.
All three of the girls with my hubby. It took a few tries to get all 4 of them to look at the camera but I finally got a good shot.
I love seeing my girls wear this special dress. I wore it when I was a little girl, Middle has worn it to a previous Oktoberfest when she was little and now Little One is wearing it too. She wore it for Middle’s Heritage Day at school last year. At first, she was super excited but as soon as it was time to go she started crying. Insert head scratch here. Turns out she didn’t want to look like Cinderella in her cleaning dress!!!! Okay, then. This time we didn’t have that issue and she wore it very happily.
Hubby again in his Ballack jersey. Micheal Ballack was the team captain for the German national soccer team (die Nationalmannschaft) and we found out this weekend that he had actually just retired.
After sitting in the Biergarten eating some yummy German food, listening to the band play some traditional German tunes and wandering around the vendor booths, we headed over to the rides. The highlight of the night for the girls.
Little One was thrilled with this alligator roller coaster and kept riding it over and over again. She’s a little speed demon, that one.
Middle and her friend meanwhile enjoyed the swing ride. They were able to spin the seat while it was flying through the air. Let’s just say I’m happy I wasn’t on it with them. My Bratwurst would probably have made an appearance again!
Now this giant monstrosity was a slide. The girls loved it. Me, not so much. By the time they reached the bottom they had so much speed that they usually twisted and tumbled over before coming to a stop. At one point I thought Middle hurt her neck it was so bad. But all three girls were having the time of their lives.
And of course, we couldn’t miss out on the water guns!!! Money pits that they are. Little One won the first round with a little help from daddy and walked away with a cute little stuffed puppy.
Saying “Good Bye” after a fun few hours. By the time we got back home everyone was pooped and I had yet to bake a birthday cake!!!

The beginning of another week.
And the only thing I like about Mondays is joining Stasha and making a list for her.
Today’s all about compliments.
I wasn’t sure which way to go with this one.
I don’t take compliments easily and never quite know what to say other than “Thank you.”
As I was browsing around the interwebs I got an idea.
Why not combine my love for lists and quotes and give you a list of 10 compliment quotes.

I love that quote and even though I like to keep my expectations low, maybe every once in a while I should expect more… and live on the wild side!!!
Thing is sometimes something happens that you never ever expected in a million years… it kinda was that way for me.
The lovely Greta of G*funk*ified invited me to her corner of the blogosphere and share my expectations, or lack there of, I should say!
So, if you are so inclined I’d love it if you’d visit me there and say “Hello.”

Once a week I will be adding a quote…anything that strikes my fancy …I love quotes …they can make you smile, cringe or even make you sad sometimes but they will always make you think!!!
